THEME NARRATIVE:

Flora has bewitched artists for centuries. Inspiration has been drawn from every type of foliage from the shady redwoods to the mycelium of the forest floor. From the dense jungles to the delicate stamens of the lily. We paint them, we wear them, we eat them, mourn and celebrate with them.

In “CULTIVATE” we show that all types of flora continue to inspire and captivate, offering themselves as muse and symbol, through which artists continue to explore diverse themes and create works that resonate with viewers on multiple levels. We are excited to present current works in various media, traditional and avant-garde, to display the ongoing fascination with flora in art and showcase the diverse interpretations of this theme being created by today’s artists.

The IAA-USA’s theme for WORLD ART DAY 2024 is
“A GARDEN OF EXPRESSION: Cultivating Community through Art”.
