Art Meets Architecture is delighted to present "The Essence" a project by Italian artist Stefano Panichi curated by Anna Dusi.

"The artist always has the vision to create his own interpretation of human nature.

We humans share more than 50 percent of our DNA with plants, animals, minerals, sun, stars and the universe, this is the Essence.

Believing the human being not as a master entirely, but as part of the whole, to the harmony of the transformation continues, the new, the current." - Anna Dusi, Curator

Opening night will include a unique performance by Los Angeles-based international performance artist, and founder of Participlay, Elizabeth Yochim, alongside Los Angeles based, classically trained, sopranos Kate McCallum and Jahna Perricone. In concert with the building itself, they will create an immersive avant-garde performance, in outrageously inventive costuming, engaging the essence of Stefano Panichi's art through sound and movement. The performance will begin at 7pm.

As part of the Downtown Art Walk, the opening reception will be held on Thursday, April 11th from 6-8pm in the lobby of the Fine Arts Building at 811 W. 7th Street. Live Jazz by Granville "Danny" Young & Joe Lo Piccolo and tasty flavors from local Brazilian favorite, Wood Spoon.

The self-guided public art phenomenon known as the Downtown Art Walk brings thousands of art lovers and community members to an ever-evolving Downtown Los Angeles. With exciting and unique offerings around every corner, Downtown celebrates the arts on the 2nd Thursday of each month in the galleries, artist studios, and cultural institutions of the Historic Core, including the Fine Arts Building.
